Wireless communication
In the history of communication, the word wireless has been used twice, with slightly different meanings. It was originally used in a radio transmission and reception technology around 1890, such as wireless telegraphy, until the new word radio replaced it around 1920. This term reappeared in the 1980s and 1990s, mainly to distinguish digital devices that do not have wires for communication, such as the examples listed in the previous paragraph and digital devices that require wires or cables. In the 2000s, this became its main application due to the advent of technologies such as mobile broadband, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Wireless operation allows services such as remote communication, which are impossible or impractical to use wires. This term is commonly used in the telecommunications industry to refer to telecommunications systems (such as radio transmitters and receivers, remote controls, etc.). It uses some form of energy (such as radio waves, sound energy) to transmit information without using wires. In this way, information is transmitted over short and long distances.
